You might be eligible for the Victorian Government’s Free TAFE Priority Pathways Program, which gives prospective students the chance to complete multiple courses at no cost.
The Program allows you to progress from a certificate to a diploma within the same study area without paying for each individual course.
Are you eligible?
To qualify for the Free TAFE Pathways program, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen/permanent resident or New Zealand citizen
- Have completed a previous Free TAFE Pathway course and wish to continue in the same pathway
- Have previously accessed Free TAFE, including non-pathway courses, and hold a qualification that is part of a Free TAFE pathway and wish to continue in the same pathway. It does not matter if the previous qualification was obtained through government-subsidised or fee-for-service training
- Have received a Free TAFE fee waiver through JobTrainer and wish to enrol in another Free TAFE course, either in a pathway program or one additional non-pathway program.

Successful completion of:
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping
Is a Free TAFE pathway into either:
- Diploma of Accounting (Part-Time)
- Diploma of Accounting (Full-Time)
Allied Health and Nursing Pathways
Successful completion of:
- Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance
Is a Free TAFE pathway into:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
Which is a further pathway into:
- Diploma of Nursing
Building and Construction Pathways
Successful completion of:
- Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing
Is a Free TAFE pathway into either of:
- Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services
- Certificate IV in Building and Construction
Which are both further pathways into:
- Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
Community Service Pathways
Successful completion of either:
- Certificate IV in Mental Health
- Certificate IV in Youth Work
Is a Free TAFE pathway into:
- Diploma of Community Services
Early Childhood Pathways
Successful completion of:
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
Is a Free TAFE pathway into:
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
Nursing and Personal Care Pathways
Successful completion of:
- Certificate III in Individual Support
Is a Free TAFE pathway into either of:
- Certificate IV in Disability
- Certificate IV in Leisure Health
Which are both further pathways into:
- Diploma of Nursing
